Greetings! I hope you’ve had a lovely start to 2024. This post, like my previous post about my book reading list, is another unusual post for Keesling’s Corner.
I am happy to share the news that earlier in the fall of 2023 I was accepted into the biblical studies PhD program at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) with a major in biblical theology!
By day, I will still be a Biblical Worldview specialist at BJU Press. By night, I shall venture into the land of biblical theology with NOBTS.
You might be wondering what this means for the Keesling’s Corner Substack.
My hope and goal for this newsletter is to continue as-is. I want to post on biblical theology and other biblical studies topics. The timeframe for these posts will likely waver from time to time given my other commitments. If you subscribe, some posts will land in your mailbox every two weeks while other posts will be published closer to a month apart. Stay tuned, and stick with me. It’ll be worth it.
My desire for these Substacks to be more devotional in style rather than strictly academic. I want to continue diving deeper into theological studies and contribute to the field. However, I also want to sharpen the language I use in more approachable ways, too. That’s where this Substack comes in.
I have a few drafts prepared and hope to keep them in the queue for you all. So far, the topics range from guided devotions (on topics such as prayer, work, and light in Scripture) to general scriptural studies (on interpretive and applications to passages in Ruth, Philippians, and Deuteronomy). I am looking forward to sharing them with you!
I am anxious and excited to further my education with NOBTS. During this time I covet your prayer as I continue to balance work, life, and education commitments. There will certainly be times when the balance is off-kilter.
May the Lord be brought glory through all of our pursuits.
“For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light”
(Ps. 36:9, KJV).
Ever a pleasure, in Christ,
Keesling’s Corner
Hey brother— Just came across your Substack this morning. I also really enjoy Biblical Theology! What are you most looking forward to in your studies?
Congratulations, brother! Many prayers.
